Detail:

Fourth generation (4GL) programming language created by Information Builders in 1975. Used to interrogate databases and other data sources, and produce reports. Most mainframe databases are supported, including DB2,IMS, CA Datacom, CA IDMS, SQL/DS and Adabas. Reports are portable between the different platforms supporting FOCUS, including UNIX, System i, HP NonStop, OpenVMS and Windows.

Initially created by Gerald Cohen, a previous developer of the similar language RAMIS.
