New Jersey based software company founded in 1959 by a group of former UNIVAC programmers. Initially providing contract programming services, ADR created AUTOFLOW in 1965 for RCA 501 computers - regarded as the first software product marketed independent of computing hardware. ADR was a leading player in antitrust actions against IBM in the 1960s resulting in IBM breaking up MVS into different components to allow other software companies to market competing products.
ADR was acquired by Ameritech (AT&T Teleholding Inc) in 1986, and subsequently sold to CA in 1988.
